Finances & Fees

Therapy is an investment in your wellbeing, relationships, and long-term quality of life. My goal is to make the financial side of the process feel straightforward and easy to understand.

Private Pay Practice

Path Forward Counseling currently operates as a private pay practice.

Private pay therapy allows for greater flexibility, increased privacy, and more individualized treatment planning without many of the restrictions commonly associated with insurance-based care.

Clients may also be able to use Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for eligible mental health services.

Superbills are available upon request for eligible services. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan and cannot be guaranteed.

Financial Policy Information

The information provided on this page is intended to offer a general overview of fees, payment expectations, and financial policies at Path Forward Counseling. Official financial policies, practice policies, informed consent documents, and service agreements are provided as part of the intake process and may contain additional details or updates specific to individual services.

Good Faith Estimate

In accordance with the No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or not using insurance will receive a Good Faith Estimate prior to beginning services.

The Good Faith Estimate outlines the expected cost of services and is provided as part of the intake process to help clients make informed financial decisions regarding their care.

If treatment needs, frequency, or recommended services change over time, updated estimates may be provided as appropriate.

Payment Policies

Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

A valid payment method may be required to remain on file for scheduled appointments.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a late cancellation fee.

Clients arriving significantly late to session may need to reschedule depending on scheduling availability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Path Forward Counseling currently operates as a private pay practice. Insurance panel participation may be added in the future as the practice continues to grow and expand.

Can I use out-of-network benefits?

In some cases, yes. A superbill may be available for clients seeking potential reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

Why do some clients choose private pay?

Private pay allows for greater flexibility, increased privacy, and often fewer restrictions related to diagnosis, treatment planning, and session limitations imposed by insurance companies. Insurance coverage for couples counseling and premarital counseling is often limited or unavailable depending on the specific insurance plan and the nature of services being provided.

For this reason, many relationship-focused services are commonly provided through private pay arrangements.

Are ESA letters charged separately?

No. ESA documentation is included as part of the ESA evaluation process when clinically appropriate. Separate documentation fees are not charged for ESA letters completed through this service.
